In early March, India and other countries with big Hindu populations usher in spring and represent the triumph of good over evil with what basically amounts to a national multi-coloured water fight in the street. People head out of their houses and cover each other in coloured paints, powders, waters, and dyes. It’s the literal, visual interpreatation of the colourful re-birth of spring come to life on people’s bodies.

Geographers from Kansas State University map the spatial distribution of the seven deadly sins in the United States. These types of maps are always kind of iffy as they draw from data from various sources gathered with different methods and usually use some kind of researcher-defined metric. Still interesting though… right?

Ok if you are anything like me you listen to music at your desk all day everyday …well at least most of the day. And when my complete iTunes library is not at my fingertips I usually let a playlist-making music service of some sort do the work.

Above are a select few of some internet radio and song finder services. Some are simple, others are quite intricate. Just wanted to get some insight to what other people use.

My favs are Pandora and Grooveshark.

I need your help!

Okay okay so this isn’t a post about something fancy shmancy (although take a look at those goggles). No, I need your help. I figure us 50 footers have seen a thing or two on the web, so I just want some input for a larger project of mine. Product showcase galleries. You know the things on the eCommerce site’s that show you the different colors and style you can buy your product in.

Mainly focusing on apparel and accessories…
What are the things you notice before purchasing a product online? Zooming in on a product? Cropped and detailed pictures with matching thumbnail? Clothes laying flat on a surface, or on a model. Features you like, features you can’t stand. A watch on a hand or a watch floating in mid air?

Thought? Links? Any input would help me out quite a bit. Thank ya!

Okay so I thought maybe I just didn’t notice it until now but as of this year Google has updated their fav icon. Now I know Google isn’t really know for their amazing designs and extravagant style and it’s not like they’ll loose users over this, but personally I’m not a fan. How bout you guys?
