Minimalist iPod Shuffle

iPod Shuffle

I realize that “Apple makes something tiny” is old news, but it should be pointed out that they’ve finally succeeded in making a device that has no buttons. I can’t tell exactly, but it may not even have a LED indicator.

And yes, I realize that the headphones have buttons. That’s not the point. No one’s looking at those. So shut up.

I love it. The VoiceOver is a little wack. Now that it’s being used more, I’d like to see Apple improving it. The Windows one sounded at-least-as-good. But the lack of buttons makes this thing likely more workout-proof. Not to mention purty.

I’m torn. It’s pretty, and I admire the minimalism, but I don’t like Apple’s headphones and wouldn’t want to use them. I can’t tell if the headphone cord remote is fused into the headphones or if it’s just a dongle that I could plug my own headphones into.

Also, I’m not in the market for one of these things, so Apple shouldn’t worry about what I think anyway. Seriously, Apple. Don’t worry about me.

    I’ll take 10.

    One for each ear.

Apple’s buds have gotten way better in the last year or two, but we shouldn’t be forced to use them. I’m with you Jed - I hope there’s a dongle involved.

    Heh. Heh heh.
