Internet music of choice?

internet_music

Ok if you are anything like me you listen to music at your desk all day everyday …well at least most of the day. And when my complete iTunes library is not at my fingertips I usually let a playlist-making music service of some sort do the work.

Above are a select few of some internet radio and song finder services. Some are simple, others are quite intricate. Just wanted to get some insight to what other people use.

My favs are Pandora and Grooveshark.

    Ooh, good post.

So I really only use Pandora for this kind of thing. Are there solid reasons to try all these others? What’s the best go-to for playing a specific song?

Lee, check out Grooveshark. Pretty clean UI, think you’ll be a fan. Like Songza and a hundred other similar services like it, I’m pretty sure it’s scraping the web for it’s content. Which means your not getting super hi quality audio but I ain’t complaining. And you can also create playlists and find similar music.

Ohh and check out how perdy the widget builder is, brings me back to our eventful days :)

I love last.fm and blip.fm your missing out by not at least trying these two out.

When I can’t get on Last.FM I like to use Jango.com, although I’m sure there’s better. I’m just used to it now–been on it for a while, so the stuff they feed me is pretty tailor-fit. The biggest downside is that they’re advertisement-run now, so occasionally a brief, sort of obtrusive video ad will show up between songs. And the selection’s not too broad, but it’s growing. Needless to say, you can’t be too picky when you don’t have your iTunes around.
