Okay so I thought maybe I just didn’t notice it until now but as of this year Google has updated their fav icon. Now I know Google isn’t really know for their amazing designs and extravagant style and it’s not like they’ll loose users over this, but personally I’m not a fan. How bout you guys?
And after digging into it a little deeper I found this post from Google. Turns out they actually experimented with a few hundred variations.

Heh heh… I was just about to post about this. I’ve never been a huge fan of Google’s graphic design, but I think this does a better job representing their brand than their last version, which was a little too fragile. This captures their essence in 16×16 fully saturated pixels. It’s… fine.
