Swan Lake - “Enemy Mine”

swanlake.jpg

Swan Lake has a new album coming out in March. Dustin pointed out to me that the cover art is really great. The arrangement of the people, the coffee pots, binder, and microphones make it seem like a 21st century courthouse version of A Bar at the Folies-Bergère.

I’m interested in finding out who painted it. I wasn’t particularly fond of the cover of Swan Lake’s first album, Beast Moans, but a deeper examination of the works by its painter, Shary Boyle, turned out to be very rewarding.

Regarding the Bar at the Folies-Bergere painting — note the bottle of Harp on the right. They haven’t really messed with that logo.
